Toronto Growing the Fastest in North America

Toronto is certainly well known these days thanks to the Toronto Raptors (we the north!). In 2018 Toronto was also named the 4th most liveable city in the world (this doesn’t shock us). But a recent statistic has shocked us, in the most positive of ways… Toronto is the fastest growing city in North America! That’s right, fastest in Canada AND the United States.

With a current population of approximately 6 million, Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and 4th largest in North America. Toronto is indeed a financial powerhouse. The population growth numbers tell the real story. In a 12-month period ending July 2018, Toronto’s population grew by 77,435 people! To put that into perspective, the second fastest growing city – Phoenix – grew by 25,288. In terms of how the population grew, immigration was the main source of growth, with birth being the secondary source. So it is incredibly clear that Toronto is where people want to be.
