Bloor West Village is a neighbourhood in Toronto along Bloor St W, between Jane St and Ellis Park Rd, sandwiched between the communities of Runnymede and Swansea. High Park sits within Swansea.
The area as we know it today, was a result of the opening of the Bloor-Danforth subway, which opened in the area in the mid 1960’s. Modern day Bloor West Village has unique shops and restaurants, and High Park is a 400 acres municipal park that has much to see and do… the cherry blossom festival is bloomin’ beautiful! The area is host to the annual Ukrainian Festival in September, and participates in the Cavalcade of Lights in December. Commute time to the financial district of downtown is 33 minutes by subway, or 22-45 minutes by car.
Real Estate in the area really actually consists of the communities of Runnymede and Swansea. However, on average, real estate in the area in May 2018 showed 115 new listings, selling for 106.6% of asking price, within 10 days, and with an average selling price of $1,041,592. Remember, close proximity to the subway line will always ensure a higher property value, and solid investment. One bedroom rentals rent for, on average, $2,300 per month.
